Did you know 94% of recruiters use LinkedIn? Or that 79% have hired someone they found through LinkedIn?
If you’re in the job market, you’ll want to shift your strategy to attract attention from the recruiters that crawl the professional networking site all day, every day. Here are some of the top ways to get your LinkedIn profile noticed by recruiters.
Starting an Open Profile
One of the best things you can do to be found by recruiters on LinkedIn is to set your page to an Open Profile. This requires a Premium Account that runs $30/mo (see more features below), but the Open Profile ability is invaluable.
With LinkedIn’s default algorithm, everything is about your “network.” You can only see full profiles and contact information for accounts that are within 2 degrees of your network. That means your profile will only be fully visible to “friend of a friend” type connections. In some cases, 3 degrees—or “friend of a friend of a friend” can be used by those with premium Recruiter Lite accounts.
But with an Open Profile, all LinkedIn users can see your entire page, regardless of how many mutual contacts you share.
